Dr. Nguyen Duc Hiep graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1978 with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering and from the University of Sydney in 1987 with a Ph.D. degree in environmental science. He worked for Time Office Computers as a software engineer before joining the NSW State Pollution Control Commision (SPCC) as a statistician. In 1992, he supervised the air quality computer network and the air quality database and actively involved in the air quality data interpretation and research. The research was funded by the Australian Research Council (ARC) Grant as collaboration with the University of Technology in Queensland and the CSIRO Division of Coal Technology at North Ryde. Since 1997, Dr. Nguyen has been working for the Department of Environment and Conservation, Australia, as a senior atmospheric scientist.
